Today’s Mother’s Day. Mums get flowers on Mother’s Day.
I didn’t buy flowers.
I made them.
Mum got a Cupcake Bouquet! (And the vase.)
It was made of this:
(Actually, you use a styrofoam ball to stick the cupcakes in (at least on YouTube they do), but I couldn’t find one, so I used a sponge wrapped in wrapping tissue)
and this: Mum’s favourite chocolate muffins.
(I already mentioned them here.)
On those, I put pink sugar icing.
Of course, I forgot how useless I am when it comes to sugar icing and it was some work to make them look like roses.
I let the sugar icing get firm over night and then I made the bouquet and laid the Mother’s Day breakfast table.
With the cupcakes, we had whipped cream.
‘Cause my Mummy loves whipped cream.
My brother brought real roses. All those flowers fitted nicely together.
